About

MISSION

ASCE's mission is to provide essential value to our members, their careers, our partners and the public by developing leadership, advancing technology, advocating lifelong learning and promoting the profession.

The Ithaca section focuses on developing learning opportunities for its members, business relationships and friendships. We work to make valuable information accessible of the sort that rarely appears on websites or in books and magazines. Our dinner speakers often provide unpublished insights into recent projects and offer a local perspective.  ASCE Ithaca offers low cost programs that satisfy New York State continuing education professional development hour requirements for licensed engineers.

ACTIVITIES
Each year, the section sponsors:

  • 9 speaker dinners in Ithaca, Binghamton, Cortland and other cities (often in conjunction with other professional societies or student chapters),
  • 10 board meetings,
  • Golf tournament near Binghamton to raise scholarship funds,
  • Variable social events and volunteer opportunities.

The organization is nimble and flexible enough to accommodate new programs and ideas and provide enthusiastic members with an avenue to grow and develop personally and professionally….what would you like to do?

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in civil engineering-membership. There are approximately 250 Members in the ASCE Ithaca Section and 125 thousand members globally..

This is Engineers' Week, and it is marked to remind people of the good things engineers do to enable the ordinary needs, and enrich the quality of daily life. Whether it's a machine to manufacture a sub-micron-chip; lay out an electrical grid or water supply net; build a safer space module; or make real an architects dream,...
